What do you want to see ?

The perfect client area .... what do you envision ? [x] Clean and crisp For many years, our "vanilla" layout has been, well, dull. In the beginning, my thoughts behind the design of the order & client area was to build a system that could be styled and dropped into any design easily. Over the years, people have started wanting a more complete system. A system that looks good out of the box with minimal changes needed. Over the past few weeks, the client area has been undergoing a complete change that is leading into the order systems overhaul. Instead of the plain client area, that leaves alot to be desired, the system we are completing will be an "out of the box" professional looking, ready to roll out client area. To make it even more simple, we are basing everything we are desiging around the 960 Grid system. It creates a uniform layout that looks good on any website. I have a few long time clients that I contact for reference points before, during and after I design, redesign or rebuild areas and modules. So far, I think I am "spot on" with the client area and will be carrying the same look and feel into the order system. But, I am always looking for feedback and suggestions on everything. This is where you come in. Tell me what you would like to see and I'll put it on that areas list. If it can be done, and we can see it being an asset to all of our clients, I'll do everything I can to make it happen. This will be the biggest change in the system since we first released it many years ago. It has been a long time coming and I am sure it will be warmly welcomed by all that see it. Until next time ... and the next release. I appreciate your feedback and time. Thanks! Brandee Diggs

v3.2.82 is now Available ... what's next ?

As promised, all new releases will have at least a new registrar, server module, payment module or other specialty module. This one includes the NameCheap.com domain module. While building this module, I started pulling apart other modules so that more of the registrar offered services can be made available as addons and/or products (i.e. SSL, Private Whois, etc., ). These extended features should be released in an upcoming version as soon as we deem all to be stable and integrating properly. In the middle of this release, a current licensee requested if there was a way to send out shipping notifications to clients who order products that get shipped out. I didn't see any harm in adding a few tweaks to allow this so, you'll see a few new options in areas such as product creation, new invoice adding, and order editing that pertain to this simple shipping feature that was added. What's next ? I am gutting the front end of the system. Starting at the most important area of the script ( the order system ) and streamlining the entire process to make order processing faster, easier and hopefully improve abandoned order syndrome. This is going to be a painstaking process and I have hired on another part-time coder to assist in this area. This will be in a MAJOR release (i.e. v3.3.0 ) as opposed to a minor release (i.e. 3.2.85 ). In the next minor release, I am throwing in support for CashEnvoy and Internet.BS Domain Registrar. If I am able to get through the Name.com API in time, I will be adding that registrar module to the system as well in the next build. Moving forward, I will continue all progress on the order system & client area, then turning all focus to the admin area. No matter the area, if there is something you would like to see, something you would like added or, an tweak to an existing area, let me know. I take all requests into consideration and, if feasible and possible, I add them to the development list. Module Question: Would MailChimp Integration be something you would use ? Until Next time ... Thanks! Brandee Diggs Read more »

New Key Server being Provisioned

After 8 years of using the same server as our key server, the time has come to upgrade from that dinosaur and get a new server to replace it. Since ALL licenses validate against this key server, when it is provisioned out and active, your installation will require a SINGLE file update. You will be able to obtain this update without logging into you license account. It will be available to everyone with an active license.

Next week, v3.2.80 will be available in your license management area ready for download and use. This version introduces support for the first on a list of new server modules, DirectAdmin. When building server modules, we look for basic functionality:
As we move forward with our server module list, we will be testing/building for the following after a series of current module rewrites
That list has been compiled based on requests through tickets and emails over the past year. We have a handful of new payment gateways being tested also, as well as updating current ones that will be available in a future release. Read more »

Alive and Developing ... Moving Forward in 2011

First, I would like to start off by eliminating a rumor. I am not dead. After almost a year since going out on a medical leave, I have recently returned to the company full time and have started pulling everything apart and rebuilding. This past year has been a tough one but, the good news is all should remain clear which puts me back at the disposal of my clients. A lot of you have been clients of mine since the start, stemming back 10 years. While others have only been with me since the release of V3. Either way, even through the sickness, I made it a point to be able to support everyone with the same level of speed, accuracy and reliability as I have for 10 years. With that in mind, I am opening up the gates and getting everything, and everyone, ready for new modules, new gateways and, once complete, an entire new client & order system on the front end. In my absence, I had a few volunteers who have been with me for years keep the support side going but, the development side came to a standstill. This is no longer the case. After pulling everything apart and fully analyzing every request, I am hiring on a few new developers to assist, speeding up all future development. Along side of the new development, I am offering specials to every current license holder. Note, these specials will not last long. Only through the month of July is my time frame on these specials. ================================= CURRENT V3 OWNED CLIENTS ================================= -> Upgrade to a lifetime license for only $49.95 * No More Renewals * * No Expiration on Support * * No Expiration on Downloads * ================================= CURRENT V2 OWNED CLIENTS ================================= -> Upgrade to a lifetime V3 license for only $79.95 * Includes INSTALLATION OF V3 * * Includes Conversion of all V2 data to V3 * * No Expiration on Support * * No Expiration on Downloads * These items are available inside your license management area. Login -> Click on [ View ] next to your order and click on "Buy New Addons". It will be listed in the "Upgrade Packages Available:" area. If you do not see this option for your license, contact me through the helpdesk. ================================= ALL NEW V3 LIFETIME LICENSE PURCHASES ================================= -> FREE INSTALLATION Many of you know that I am very generous with my time to every license holder. Providing free support, free installation service, free upgrades, and more just to make sure that you had everything you needed to run your hosting company, at the least amount of cost. Normally when I would do that, I would get asked many times, "Hey, Can I just donate to the development of AutoPilot " and, oddly enough, I would say not to worry about it. Now you can. If you would like to donate to the development, you can find a link to that page on our website from the purchase page. Your donation will actually be tracked and put into a "services credit" section in your license account that can be used for future services. So, as an example, if you were to donate $50 and in a few months you want us to upgrade your installation, then you can either purchase the upgrade service or tell us "please use my service credit against this upgrade" and, we'll adjust your account accordingly. With all this said, I am sure you are asking, what's in store over the upcoming months ? Starting in August, new releases will come out on a regular basis which will start with v3.2.80 which will include full DirectAdmin support. September releases will include a new upgrade utility ( so you can keep up easier ) as well as a few new modules and order form modifications. Future releases will follow a strict guideline as to where there will be at least a payment gateway, a server module and a domain registrar module release in each release until our list of supported third party systems is complete. I will be putting together a complete list of every module in development, as well as a tracker date on it so that you can see where it is as well as, when to expect it. Have suggestions for me and the new crew ? Send them in. Most of you know, I talk to everyone and if you are getting this update, I have provided you with support in some way, some how, over the past few years. I take every suggestion to the table, review it, research the need for it and if it passes, it goes right to the list for development. I have been in this market for a very, very long time and I don't plan on going anywhere. I appreciate everyone's support over the years, as well as your patience over the past year, and look forward to many more years in the future. Thank You!
